Bet Calculator
Work out the returns on any bet: singles, doubles, trebles and accumulators, or full-cover bets like the Lucky 15, Yankee, Patent and Round Robin. Enter your odds, mark each result, and see exactly what comes back.
How many bets am I actually placing?
This is where most slips go wrong. A Lucky 15 is not one bet on four horses, it is fifteen separate bets, so a £1 Lucky 15 costs £15 and not £1. Every full-cover bet works the same way: you are buying every possible combination of your selections.
| Bet | Selections | Bets | What it covers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single | 1 | 1 | One selection |
| Double | 2 | 1 | Both must win |
| Treble | 3 | 1 | All three must win |
| Trixie | 3 | 4 | 3 doubles, 1 treble |
| Patent | 3 | 7 | Trixie plus 3 singles |
| Round Robin | 3 | 10 | Trixie plus 3 up-and-down pairs |
| Yankee | 4 | 11 | 6 doubles, 4 trebles, 1 four-fold |
| Lucky 15 | 4 | 15 | Yankee plus 4 singles |
| Canadian | 5 | 26 | All doubles upwards |
| Lucky 31 | 5 | 31 | Canadian plus 5 singles |
| Heinz | 6 | 57 | All doubles upwards |
| Lucky 63 | 6 | 63 | Heinz plus 6 singles |
The rule of thumb: any bet with “Lucky” in the name includes singles, so at least one winner gets you something back. A Yankee, Canadian or Heinz has no singles, which means one winner returns nothing at all.
Decimal or fractional odds — both work
Type whichever you have in front of you. 3.5, 5/2, 5-2 and evens are all understood. Fractional odds are converted the standard way: the fraction is the profit, so 5/2 becomes 3.5 in decimal because you get £2.50 profit plus your £1 stake back for every £1.
Non-runners, places and bonuses
Mark any selection as void and it is treated at odds of 1.00, which is exactly how a bookmaker settles a non-runner: the single is refunded and every multiple it appears in drops a leg, so a treble becomes a double. Switch on each way and every bet doubles in number and cost, with the place part settled at your chosen fraction of the odds.
For Lucky bets the calculator also handles the two standard offers: a one-winner consolation, where a single winning selection is paid at double or treble the odds, and an all-winners bonus added to your total returns. Both vary between bookmakers and are usually applied to the win part only, so check the terms on your own account before relying on the figure.
A worked example you can check
Four selections, all at evens (2.00 decimal), £1 per bet, all four winning. That is a £15 Lucky 15 returning £80: four singles return £8, six doubles return £24, four trebles return £32 and the four-fold returns £16. Add a 10% all-winners bonus and it becomes £88. Set it up in the calculator above and you should get exactly those numbers.
This calculator is for working out returns on bets you are already considering. Multiple bets carry the bookmaker’s margin on every leg, so the more legs you add the worse the value gets. 18+ only. Please gamble responsibly.
Bets that do not rely on picking winners
Every bet on this page needs your selections to come in. Matched betting works the other way round: you cover both outcomes and take the bookmaker’s free bet as profit, whatever happens. Our beginner’s guide walks through the first one step by step, and the matched betting calculator does the maths.
